What is an orthosis?
An orthosis is a brace that is designed to facilitate healing or improve function for a specific part of the body. They can be helpful for people with musculoskeletal disorders and conditions like osteoarthritis, stroke, traumatic brain injuries and chronic pain.
What is a prosthesis?
A prosthesis is an artificial limb designed to replace a limb that is missing. Prosthesis are custom made for individuals of all ages who have experienced an amputation or who were born with limb differences.

Do I need a prescription?
Yes, you will need a prescription for an evaluation for a new orthosis or prosthesis. All services are provided under a physician's orders. Some minor adjustments, replacements or repairs can be provided without a new order. Please call us at 214-265-5060 if you are unsure if you require a new prescription
I am traveling from out of town; can I coordinate my visit with other health care providers?
We try our best to accommodate your appointment needs so that you can coordinate multiple health care visits during one trip to Dallas. Call 214-265-5060 to secure your choices for appointment times.
I need adjustments to my prosthesis that was made by another provider. Can I come to M-Power?
M-Power is happy to evaluate and recommend any specific changes to your current device. You may choose to bring these recommendations to your original prosthetist, or see M-Power to implement changes. We do require a physician prescription and while the consult is offered at no charge, there may be charges associated with repairs to device.
Can I get diabetic Shoes at M-Power?
M-Power offers a comprehensive Diabetic Foot care program and carries a full line of appropriate footwear.
I am a new amputee. Where can I find a support group?
M-Power is a proud sponsor of the Dallas Amputee Network. This group meets monthly to discuss and exchange ideas. This is a great resource for the amputee and the caregiver. How long will it take to make my device?
Many factors determine the length of time from evaluation to delivery. Not including insurance authorization time, an orthosis typically takes one to two weeks to be finished. Prosthetics depend on the sophistication of the technologies employed, the number of fittings etc. but typically take between three and six weeks to fabricate
